Grant Guilliams is a Brooklyn based designer and stop motion animator. He has worked in film, television, and display for the past 13 years designing sets, props, puppets, storyboards, and concept art. With a background in contemporary art, he approaches each phase of design and fabrication seeking a happy marriage of form and function, with an eye toward storytelling. When he’s not toiling away on test animation, Grant enjoys reading comic books, drinking single malt, and roasting parsnips to perfection.
After a career change from architectural fabrication into industrial design at the California College of Art, Jason found himself captivated by the world of stop-motion animation. Since then he’s worked on many amazing and award-winning productions; such as Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa, Amazon’s Emmy winning Tumble Leaf and Netflix’s upcoming Wendell and Wild. Currently, Jason’s team is updating the “Spokes-Puppet” for Bob’s Furniture in Manchester Connecticut. Jason uses 3D printing and iterative design techniques to achieve unique and highly functional puppets that provide animators endless performance possibilities.
