Join us for User Office Hours with Jeremy Nelson of Exactech and Scott Powell of University of Florida. UF and Exactech recently partnered to use 3D printing technology in the fight against COVID-19. The two organizations combined a fleet of Formlabs 3D printers, FDA-compliant facilities and medical expertise to validate a nasopharyngeal swab design and quickly and safely scale production. Jeremy and Scott will discuss the ways in which their respective organizations used 3D printing technology prior to the pandemic as well as the details behind the new partnership. Their applications include medical device development and testing medical models.

What you will learn:

  • Learn how UF used 3D printing in its Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment
  • Discuss how Exactech uses 3D printing to reduce costs and development time for medical devices
  • Dive into how they built a partnership to combat COVID-19 by working together to produce NP swabs in FDA-compliant facilities
